Silchar: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will begin a two-day visit to Barak Valley on December 6, with a packed schedule of public programmes across Cachar and Hailakandi.

He is expected to arrive in Silchar on Friday morning and head straight to Hailakandi for a Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan cheque distribution at the Hailakandi Mela Field at 11:15 am.

In the afternoon, he will return to Cachar to attend another round of MMUA cheque distribution at Borjalenga Field under the Dholai constituency at 1:15 pm.

Beneficiaries from the area are set to receive financial support under the state government’s flagship initiative.

The next day, December 7, the Chief Minister will take part in the foundation stone laying of the Madhura Bridge, a long-awaited infrastructure project expected to improve connectivity in the region. After the event, he will travel to Udharbond to attend another MMUA cheque distribution at the D.N.H.S. Field at 11:30 am.

Dr Sarma is scheduled to leave Silchar for Guwahati later in the afternoon, wrapping up his two-day tour of the valley.
