Silchar: The Barak Education Society, affiliated to NYKS, Cachar, has reconstituted its central advisory committee for the 2025-26 session. The decision was taken at the society’s annual general meeting held recently.
The new committee brings together a distinguished panel of academicians, educationists, and social workers from across the region. Among the prominent members are Prof. K.M. Baharul Islam, Director of IMT Hyderabad; Prof. Md. Bashir K, Department of Arabic, Assam University; Prof. Humayun Bakth, Department of Sociology, AUS; Dr. Baharul Islam Laskar, Principal, M.C.D College, Sonai; and Prof. Shahin Ara Bagum, Department of Computer Science, AUS.
Other notable names include Prof. Anindya Syam Choudhury (English, AUS), Prof. J.U. Ahmed (Management, NEHU Tura), Dr. Alauddin Mondal (Bengali, AUS), Prof. S.K. Jasimuddin (Chemistry, AUS), Prof. Arup Barman (Business Administration, AUS), Prof. P.K. Palit (History, AUS), Dr. Jawaid Rahmani (Urdu, AUS), Prof. Mustafizur Rahman (Arabic, AUS), and Dr. Swapan Kr. Dutta (Education, AUS).
The committee also features respected educationists and social workers, including Sabir Ahmed Chowdhury, retired Vice Principal of M.C.D College, Sonai; Shihab Uddin Ahmed, retired Senior BDO, Silchar; Abid Raja Mazumder, retired Principal and writer; and Dr. Taz Uddin Khan, Principal of West Silchar College.
Taimur Raja Choudhury, editor of Dainik Samayik Prasanga, has been appointed as Chief Advisor of the reconstituted body, while Lal Mia Laskar will serve as the General Secretary.
