Silchar: The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), India’s largest labour organisation, celebrated the culmination of its year-long 70th Foundation Day programmes with a grand central-level event on Wednesday.

The event was graced by the presence of Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat, who attended as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring and insightful address.

As part of the South Assam Prant’s observance of this milestone, a central programme was held at the Doloo Tea Estate in Cachar district. The event drew significant attention from across the region and witnessed active participation from BMS functionaries, tea garden workers, and social leaders.

Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty attended the programme and described it as a moment of great honour and learning. He expressed his deep reverence for Mohan Bhagwat’s address, calling it a “valuable intellectual experience,” and also delivered a speech on the occasion.

Chakraborty extended heartfelt gratitude to the State Secretary of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Rajib Kumar Nath, and District President Mriganka Bhattacharjee for providing him the opportunity to be a part of what he termed a “noble and inspiring” event.

The ceremony at Doloo marked not just the end of a year of celebrations but also the reaffirmation of BMS’s commitment to the rights and dignity of Indian workers.
