Silchar; The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its final list of 10 candidates for the Barak Valley constituencies ahead of the upcoming elections, confirming several familiar names across the region.
In Silchar, Dr. Rajdeep Roy will represent the party, while Kaushik Rai has been fielded from Lakhipur. Amiya Kanti Das will contest from Dholai, and Rajdeep Goala from Udharbond. Kamalaksha Dey Purkayastha has been named the candidate for Katigorah, and Kishor Nath for Borkhola.
Further, Krishnendu Paul will contest from Patharkandi, Bijoy Malakar from Ramkrishnanagar, and Subrata Bhattacharjee from North Karimganj. Milan Das has been nominated from Hailakandi.
Meanwhile, the BJP’s ally, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), has announced candidates for three constituencies in the Barak Valley. Karim Uddin Barbhuiya will contest from Sonai, Iqbal Hussain from South Karimganj, and Zakir Hussain Laskar from the Algapur–Katlicherra seat.
