Silchar: The Cachar district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday staged a protest against the Congress and the INDI Alliance, accusing them of insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother with offensive remarks.
Led by district president Rupam Saha, party workers gathered in Silchar, raising slogans and demanding a public apology from the opposition. Saha said the comments crossed all limits of political decency and urged Congress leaders to stop resorting to personal attacks.
BJP leaders present at the protest described the remarks as proof of the opposition’s moral decline and vowed to continue their agitation until accountability is fixed.
Prominent members including Gopal Kanti Roy, Bablu Keot, and Amitesh Chakraborty joined the programme.
