Cachar Puja Committees Receive Assam Government Aid Ahead of Festivities

Each committee is receiving financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 from the government

Silchar: The Assam Government has sanctioned financial aid for around 1,081 Durga Puja committees across Cachar district. As part of the initiative, demand drafts were formally distributed to various committees at a ceremony held on Saturday at the Gurucharan University auditorium in Silchar. The programme was organised by the Cachar District Administration.

Among those present at the event were Rajesh Das, Jhalak Chakraborty, Piklu Das, and several other dignitaries.

Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty lauded Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for extending support to community Puja celebrations, describing the move as a meaningful gesture that has strengthened festive spirit in the state. Each committee is receiving financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 from the government.
