Cachar Readies for District-Wide Screening of CM’s PMAY-G Sanction Letter Ceremony

Silchar: The Cachar district administration has completed its preparations for the live screening of the Chief Minister’s PMAY-G sanction letter distribution ceremony scheduled for December 9 at Boko Gandhi Maidan in Kamrup. The event will be streamed across all Legislative Assembly Constituencies in the district.

A detailed deployment order issued by the Cachar Zilla Parishad has placed Neihat Haolai, ACS, in-charge Deputy CEO of the Zilla Parishad, as the overall coordinator for district-level arrangements. The move follows instructions from the Commissioner of Panchayat and Rural Development to ensure that every LAC is fully equipped for the programme.

LAC-wise officers have been positioned across development blocks to manage field arrangements. Ramen Dutta will oversee Silchar, Nikhil Adhikari will supervise Udharbond, Kubad Ahamed Choudhury will manage Katigorah, Paromita Deb is responsible for Borkhola, and Zahid Hussain Hazarika along with Kishor Kr Chakraborty will coordinate Lakhipur. Ridwan Sokeel Mazumder has been assigned to Sonai.

Venues for the district-level ceremonies have also been finalised. Udharbond will host its event at the Development Block Auditorium Hall, while Dholai will hold its programme at the CCJC HS School playground in Palonghat. Katigorah’s event is set for the Lakhipur Sadbhavana Mandap, and Borkhola’s will take place at ITI Srikona.

Sonai will hold its ceremony at the Sonai Playground, and Silchar’s event will be in the Multipurpose Hall of the Silchar Development Block. Lakhipur LAC will run events at three locations: the Lakhipur Development Block Multipurpose Hall, Dewan Bagan Nachgarh, and Chotamamda Nachgarh.

District data shows substantial progress under PMAY-G. Lakhipur has 1,593 houses sanctioned against a target of 1,647; Udharbond has 595 of 609; Katigorah has 3,499 of 3,674; and Borkhola has 2,787 of 2,890. Silchar stands at 698 of 757, Sonai leads with 5,358 of 5,666, and Dholai follows with 2,294 of 2,320.

Several public representatives will attend the ceremonies across the district. Minister Kaushik Rai will be present in Lakhipur, Mihir Kanti Shome in Udharbond, Kamlakhya Dey Purkayastha in Katigorah, and Misbahul Islam Laskar along with Rupam Saha in Borkhola. Dipayan Chakraborty will attend the Silchar event, while Saharul Alom will be present in Sonai and Nihar Ranjan Das in Dholai.

With officers deployed and venues prepared, the Cachar administration is set for a coordinated district-wide participation in the Chief Minister’s PMAY-G sanction letter distribution programme at 10 am on Monday.
