Silchar: The District Administration Cachar, in collaboration with the Co-District Administration, Dholai, will commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on November 13, 2025, with a grand event titled “Sardar@150 – Unity March.”

The celebration, dedicated to the Iron Man of India, aims to honour Sardar Patel’s pivotal role in uniting the nation and to rekindle the spirit of national integrity and civic responsibility among citizens.

The Unity March will begin at 8:00 AM from BNMP School Field, Dholai, and will see enthusiastic participation from students of various educational institutions, government officials, and local residents. Participants will walk in unison carrying banners and placards bearing messages of national unity, peace, and harmony.

Speaking about the initiative, Co-District Commissioner of Dholai, Roktim Baruah, said, “The 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel offers us an opportunity to remember his enduring legacy of national integration.

This march is not merely a ceremonial event but a reflection of our collective spirit of unity and commitment to the nation’s ideals. We want today’s generation to imbibe Sardar Patel’s determination, discipline, and devotion to India’s unity.”

Officials from the District Administration Cachar said the initiative aligns with the government’s broader efforts to promote civic participation and patriotic values through inclusive and community-driven events. They described the Unity March as a symbolic expression of solidarity meant to strengthen the bond between citizens and the nation.
