Silchar: Sahasra Ray from Cachar has made Assam proud by winning gold at the 14th National Vovinam Martial Arts Championship in New Delhi.
The event, held on September 8 at Talkatora Stadium, brought together nearly 700 athletes from 27 states. Competing in the Junior Boys 54–55 kg category, Sahasra, a trainee of the Cachar Vovinam Association, emerged champion, securing a top medal for Assam.
Cachar District Vovinam Association’s Ramjoy Das praised Sahasra’s commitment, saying his years of hard work and discipline had finally borne fruit. He also wished the young martial artist a bright future in the sport.
