CHENNAI AS NCC SPECIAL ENTRY, FELICITATED BY NCC GROUP HQ

Kohima/ Nagaland : Under Officer N. Mensham Konyak of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, and 24 Nagaland Battalion NCC, Kohima was felicitated on 20 Sep 2025 at NCC Group HQs, Kohima, by the Group Commander in the proud presence of his parents and other relatives.
He has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing All India Rank 66 in the SSB NCC Special Entry, and will be joining the prestigious Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, on 25 Sep 2025, fulfilling his long-cherished dream of joining the Indian Army as an officer.

An exemplary cadet, Under Officer Konyak secured an ‘A’ grading in the NCC ‘C’ Certificate Examination (2024) and was promoted to the rank of Under Officer in March 2023, in recognition of his outstanding leadership qualities.
His NCC journey has been marked by stellar performances representing 24 Nagaland Battalion NCC at various, Inter-Group and Inter-Directorate level camps and competitions, excelling in drill, service shooting, sports, and cultural events.
Inspired by his father, Nb Sub S. Nokom Konyak (Retd.) of Naga Regiment, Under Officer Konyak displayed unwavering determination and discipline throughout his cadetship. His peers admire his commitment, while seniors respect his leadership and perseverance.
Speaking at the felicitation, the Group Commander lauded Under Officer Konyak’s achievement as a shining example of dedication, hard work, and focused ambition, which will inspire juniors and future NCC cadets across Nagaland and beyond.
His accomplishment highlights the transformative role of the National Cadet Corps in shaping youth into responsible leaders of tomorrow and underscores the pride of Nagaland in contributing to the officer cadre of the Indian Army.
