Silchar: As part of the Women Entrepreneurship initiative, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is scheduled to formally distribute cheques to women members of various Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the Silchar Assembly constituency on October 24.

In preparation for the event, the district administration and local party units have been conducting outreach meetings in every Gram Panchayat and Ward to engage with SHG members and ensure smooth participation.

On Saturday, Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty attended one such meeting held in Ward No. 12 (formerly Ward No. 24), where discussions were held with SHG women to brief them about the upcoming cheque distribution and the support available under the initiative.

The programme aims to promote women entrepreneurship, empower local SHG members, and strengthen community engagement in developmental schemes.
