Silchar: A tragic road accident at Masimpur on the Silchar–Kalain road claimed the life of a college student on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Ferdousi Barbhuiya, a resident of Chandpur, Borkhola. According to police, Ferdousi was returning home from Silchar on a scooter with her father, Nazim Uddin, when the vehicle reportedly lost control and crashed into a truck parked by the roadside.

The impact of the collision proved fatal for Ferdousi, who died on the spot. Her father sustained injuries in the mishap. Police arrived at the scene soon after the incident, recovered the body, and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for post-mortem examination.
