New York: Dilip Saikia, Member of Parliament from Darrang–Udalguri and President of BJP Assam Pradesh, represented India as part of the Indian Parliamentary Delegation at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

During the visit, Saikia took part in a series of high-level interactions with key UN officials and diplomatic representatives. His engagements included a meeting with H.E. Mathu Joyini, Ambassador of South Africa; a discussion with Kanni Wignarajah, UN Assistant Secretary-General and UNDP Regional Director; and an interaction with the Regional Director of UNICEF.
These meetings focused on strengthening global cooperation in areas of sustainable development, child welfare, and South-South partnerships. Saikia highlighted India’s developmental initiatives and reiterated the country’s commitment to inclusive growth, equity, and multilateral collaboration within the UN framework.
The visit underscored India’s active engagement with international institutions and reaffirmed its role in shaping discussions on key global challenges.
