Silchar: A meeting of the Governing Council of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) was held at the office of the District Commissioner in Cachar on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by District Commissioner Aayush Garg, IAS.

The meeting was attended by Udharbond MLA Mihir Kanti Shome and District Development Commissioner Rajib Roy, ACS. Senior officials from concerned departments and public representatives were also present.

During the meeting, various development proposals placed by the local MLAs were taken up for discussion. After a detailed review, the council approved the proposals that were found to be technically feasible and beneficial for the public.

The approved projects aim to speed up infrastructure development and welfare activities in areas surrounding mining zones in the district.

The District Commissioner asked officials to ensure that the approved works are completed within the stipulated time while maintaining proper quality standards.
