New Delhi: Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University held a key meeting that could open doors to global collaboration. The university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ashok K. Nagawat, met Rod Phillips, former minister in the Government of Canada, for talks on future partnerships.

The discussion focused on possible academic and institutional ties between DSEU and leading institutions in Canada. Both sides explored ways to work together in skill education, emerging technologies, and workforce training.
During the interaction, Phillips shared his views on the changing global skill landscape. He stressed the need to balance new technologies with strong foundations in traditional skill disciplines. His ideas found resonance with DSEU’s focus on blending innovation with hands-on craftsmanship.
Phillips served as Member of Provincial Parliament for Ajax from 2018 to 2022. He handled major portfolios such as Environment, Finance, and Long-Term Care in Ontario. His experience in public policy and business brought a wider perspective to the discussion on global skill ecosystems and workforce transformation.
DSEU officials said the meeting was constructive and forward-looking. As a next step, the university plans to submit a formal proposal within a month to build on the engagement.
The university expressed hope that the dialogue will grow into a long-term partnership, strengthening skill development efforts and creating global opportunities for students.
