Silchar: In a move aimed at ensuring the effective execution of the Assam Government’s flagship Women Entrepreneurship Scheme, key discussions were held on Friday involving the District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) and the District Project Manager (DPM). The deliberations were focused on safeguarding the rights and participation of Self Help Group (SHG) members under the scheme.
Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty took part in the discussions and reiterated the government’s commitment to inclusive development. He informed that Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed all MLAs and district officials to ensure that no SHG member is left out of the scheme’s benefits.
“The Chief Minister has issued clear instructions that every eligible woman entrepreneur must be included under the scheme,” said MLA Chakraborty. “It is our responsibility to reach every SHG member, especially at the grassroots level.”
As part of the ongoing efforts, all SHG members in and around Silchar have been urged to get in touch with the Silchar Municipality or the Silchar Block Development Office to enlist their names and avail the benefits.
The Women Entrepreneurship Scheme is designed to empower women through financial assistance and capacity-building support, encouraging self-reliance and economic participation. Authorities have assured that a transparent and inclusive approach will be maintained during the implementation phase.
