SILCHAR: A vibrant wave of inclusive governance and community upliftment swept through Gandhi Bhawan, Silchar, on Saturday with the successful observance of the Dharti Aaba Janajatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA).
The special campaign, held under the aegis of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, witnessed the convergence of key government officials, local bodies, and tribal citizens in a collaborative effort to ensure saturation of individual entitlements for the tribal populace.
The event was marked by the esteemed presence of Sushil Bading, Under-Secretary (IFD), Ministry of Tribal Affairs, New Delhi, who played a pivotal role in reinforcing the Government of India’s commitment to the socio-economic upliftment of tribal communities.

Unhale Asish Vidyadhar, IAS, In-charge Commissioner, Silchar Municipal Corporation, added further significance to the gathering with his gracious presence and address.
The campaign was further bolstered by the participation of Norsing Bey, ACS, District Development Commissioner, Cachar; P.K. Borah, Chief Executive Officer, Cachar Zilla Parishad; the Lead District Manager, PNB, Silchar; District Agricultural Officer, Cachar; and other heads of departments, who extended institutional support to ensure the smooth implementation of the initiative.
A highlight of the campaign was a thought-provoking street drama staged at Gandhi Bagh Park, Silchar, which conveyed powerful messages on the importance of accessing government welfare schemes. The street play proved to be a creative and impactful medium to engage and inform the public, especially the tribal attendees.

The campaign focused intensively on addressing gaps in the coverage of key welfare services such as Aadhaar enrolment and correction, issuance of Ayushman Bharat health cards, PM-KISAN registration, and opening of Jan Dhan Yojana accounts. This strategic gap-filling approach aimed at achieving 100% saturation of individual entitlements among tribal beneficiaries.
The overwhelming participation of tribal citizens and the provision of on-the-spot support services resulted in a highly effective and impactful campaign. The DAJGUA initiative in Silchar not only symbolized administrative outreach but also reaffirmed the government’s inclusive vision of leaving no citizen behind in the journey towards holistic rural development.
