Silchar: A free eye screening camp held at Radha Gobindo Mandir on Sunday examined over 125 patients, with 25 found to be suffering from cataract.
The camp was jointly organized by Prabhaboti Debi Charitable Trust, Rotary Club of Greenland, Silchar, and the BJP Medical Cell. Patients diagnosed with cataract have been given dates for surgery at Choudhury Eye Hospital, while others received free medicines.
Camp manager Debojyoti Das said the response from the community was encouraging and described the effort as a step toward the goal of a “zero cataract mission” in Barak Valley. Dr. Prabal and other members of the BJP Medical Cell were also present.
