Silchar: A joint felicitation ceremony, organised by the WASHAK Youth Organisation, Bikrampur, and Bhubaneswar Public Senior Secondary School, was held with grandeur at the school’s conference hall to honour notable individuals for their contributions to society and to recognise the academic excellence of meritorious students.

Dr. Bishnu Prasad Singh, Assistant Teacher at Dwarbond High School, attended the event as the Chief Guest. Dr. Dhrutikanta Rajkumar, principal of Silchar College, and renowned politician and social worker Shyamkishore Singh graced the occasion as Special Guests.

The ceremony honoured six distinguished individuals for their contributions in various fields. Those felicitated included retired teacher Purnamani Singh; playwright and social worker Ashwini Kumar Singh; Krishnadas Singh; veteran politician and social worker Nilendu Singh; educationist Kavita Singh; and Yogendra Singh, Chairperson of the Maipaksena Trust, Mohanpur.

In addition, 18 students who achieved outstanding results in the secondary and higher secondary examinations were felicitated for their hard work and academic achievements. Other prominent guests present at the programme included retired teacher Basadhan Sharma and politician Surendra Singh.

Leading members of the WASAK Youth Organisation were also present at the event. Among them were president Bijon Singh, working president Pronay Kumar Singh, vice president Basudev Singh, secretary Robisena Singh, and members Suman Singh and Manisha Singh.

The event was smoothly anchored by Pronay Kumar Singh. Guests at the ceremony remarked that the programme was a symbol of community pride and harmony, and a testament to the values of recognition and encouragement within the region.
