SILCHAR: The Final Photo Electoral Rolls for the newly formed Silchar Municipal Corporation were officially published today, marking a crucial step forward in the city’s democratic journey. Following a comprehensive review of claims and objections received after the publication of the Draft Rolls on June 18, 2025, the final rolls are now available for public access across all 42 wards of the Corporation.

As per the published data, the Corporation comprises 42 wards with 301 polling stations set up to ensure a smooth and inclusive electoral process. The total number of registered voters stands at 2,72,284 of which 1,31,558 are male voters, 1,40,715 are female voters, and 11 voters have been listed under the ‘other’ category, showcasing the inclusive nature of the electoral system.

To maintain transparency and provide easy access to voters, the Final Electoral Rolls (excluding photographs) have been made available for inspection at the Silchar Municipal Corporation office, as well as at the offices of the respective ward Registration Officers.

Additionally, voters can access the rolls online via the official portals of the District Administration and the Assam State Election Commission at https://ermssec.assam.gov.in. Citizens can check their names in the rolls using their EPIC number or by downloading the voter list of their respective polling station from the website’s Citizen Corner.

In a press release issued by the Regional Office of Information and Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone, Silchar, the Assam State Election Commission reiterated its commitment to ensuring free, fair, and inclusive elections. The Commission has urged all eligible voters to verify their names in the Final Electoral Rolls and participate actively in the democratic process.
