Silchar: In a significant development for local infrastructure, Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the much-awaited drain and road construction project at Netaji Sarani in Ramnagar.
The foundation-laying ceremony was followed by a community meeting organised by the Netaji Sarani Development Committee. The gathering witnessed the presence of key local leaders, including Mandal President Piklu Das, former president Shyamal Kanti Deb, AP member Sangeeta Singh, former GP Chairperson Nibha Rani Singh, and several others, reflecting a strong show of support for the initiative.
During the meeting, Development Committee President Anwar Hussain and Secretary Samiran Dhar contributed a cheque of Rs10,000 towards the reconstruction of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose statue, further underlining the community’s commitment to preserving the legacy of the national icon while pushing forward with development.
