Lakhipur: The foundation stone laying ceremony for the infrastructure development of Lakhipur District Sports Association was held on Wednesday. The project has been sanctioned with an amount of Rs.1 crore under the Barak Valley Development Department.

Assam Minister Kaushik Rai attended the programme as the chief guest. He had sanctioned the scheme. The event marked a key step towards improving sports facilities in Lakhipur.

Speaking on the occasion, Bijendra Prasad Singh extended his best wishes to the President, the Honorary General Secretary, and all members of the Lakhipur DSA. He said the project would help promote sports and youth activities in the area.

Local officials, sports bodies, and residents were present at the ceremony. The project is expected to begin soon.
