Ganesh Puja Celebrations Begin at Swarna Shilpi Oikya Committee in Silchar

Silchar: The Swarna Shilpi Oikya Ganesh Puja Committee marked the beginning of its third Ganesh Chaturthi Mahotsav at N.N. Dutta Road, Narsingtola, Silchar, on Tuesday evening. The inauguration at 7 pm was led by Swami Ganadhishanandaji Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Silchar, who lit the ceremonial lamp amidst Vedic chants.

In his address, Swami Ganadhishanandaji Maharaj underlined Lord Ganesha’s significance in Hindu tradition, noting that every ritual begins with his invocation. He described Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, as the deity of prosperity and good fortune.

The committee announced that Wednesday’s programme will include day-long Ganesh Puja, Ganesh Vandana, and distribution of Mahaprasad to devotees, in keeping with tradition.

Among those present were committee president Swapan Kumar Pal, secretary Rajesh Chandra Pal, treasurer Ranjit Bhowmik, joint secretary Rajib Saha, along with executive members and organizers Gautam Deb, Balaram Dhar, Sujit Debnath, Pradip Debnath, Ratan Banik, Rupam Banik, Sanjib Dutta, Shyamal Debnath, Madhu Pal, Rakhu Pal, Shankar Sarkar, Amit Banik, and Jagabandhu Pal.
