Silchar: The Global Social Organisation on Tuesday felicitated Cachar’s Senior Superintendent of Police, Numal Mahatta, at a special ceremony held in Ramnagar, Silchar.

The organisation stated that in August he was awarded the President’s Medal for distinguished service. The honour is a recognition of his long-standing dedication, tireless effort, integrity, and outstanding contribution in maintaining law and order in Cachar district. At the event, he was presented with a citation and a traditional gamusa as a mark of respect.

Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary of the organisation, Ataur Rahman Laskar, said that under Numal Mahatta’s courageous leadership, the anti-drug campaign and crime control initiatives have achieved remarkable success, building confidence and trust among the public. “He is not only a pride of the police force but also an exemplary figure for society,” he added.

Guests present at the programme also praised his relentless service, honesty, and sense of duty. They expressed hope that he would continue to guide efforts toward public safety and justice, further enhancing the image of Assam Police.

Among those present were the organisation’s chief advisor Radhamadhab Mishra, members Rahul Amin Laskar, Abid Hussain Mazarbhuiya, and others.
