Silchar: Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty on Thursday attended the Governing Body meeting of Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH), where key discussions were held on improving hospital management systems, utilization of funds, infrastructure upgrades, and other operational matters.

A major point of concern was the recent act of vandalism in the dialysis unit. Members stressed the need for strict action against the culprits and called for the immediate restoration of damaged equipment to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

The meeting was chaired by MP Parimal Suklabaidya and attended by Minister Kaushik Rai, Cachar Deputy Commissioner Mridul Yadav, SMCH Principal Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, MLAs Nihar Ranjan Das and Misbahul Haque Laskar, along with senior faculty members.
