Haflong: HELP Society (Helping Everyone Live and Prosper Society), in collaboration with the Centre for Microfinance and Livelihood (CML) an initiative of Tata Trusts conducted a field visit to Kipeilua Village to assess local livelihood conditions and explore sustainable development opportunities.

The visit aimed to gain a deeper understanding of the community’s socio-economic realities while engaging directly with farmers, youth, and local stakeholders. The discussions highlighted key issues affecting the village, including weak market linkages, low agricultural productivity, and limited access to financial services.

Over the course of the visit, the team held interactive sessions to encourage open dialogue and collective problem-solving. Emphasis was placed on developing strategies for livelihood enhancement through capacity building, collective marketing, and sustainable agricultural practices.

HELP Society President, Surojeet Das, said that true empowerment begins with listening to communities and working with them to design solutions that fit their context. “This visit marks another step toward building stronger, self-reliant rural communities through partnership and knowledge sharing,” he said.

Both HELP Society and CML reiterated their shared commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable rural development in Dima Hasao. The organisations plan to conduct follow-up visits and initiate collaborative projects to ensure continuity and measurable progress.
