Silchar: In a remarkable display of patriotic spirit and respect for history, the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Statue Reconstruction and Installation Committee organised a large-scale historical essay competition focused on the Barak Valley.

The event saw participation from nearly 55,000 students representing both government and private schools across the region. Organisers hailed the overwhelming response as a testament to the deep-rooted commitment of young learners towards patriotism, history, and cultural heritage.

Among the many participating institutions, Bam Naba Kumar Memorial High School, Dhalai, earned special praise. The school authorities and students were lauded for their enthusiastic involvement in this noble initiative.

Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty said, “The competition not only celebrated the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose but also aimed to inspire the younger generation to connect with the region’s rich historical and cultural past.”
