Silchar: The Indian Army will hold a grand Ex-Servicemen Rally titled “Welfare Rally Silchar: Sampark, Samman, Samadhan” at Masimpur Military Station on Thursday, October 9. The event aims to address the welfare, pension, and healthcare concerns of ex-servicemen and war widows from Cachar, Hailakandi, Karimganj, and Dima Hasao districts.

Army officials said the rally will function as a single-window platform where veterans can seek assistance with pension matters, documentation, and other post-service entitlements. Representatives from the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA-SPARSH), Zila Sainik Welfare Board, and various Record Offices will be present to provide on-the-spot support and guidance.

A special medical camp will also be set up during the event, offering free health check-ups and consultations for veterans and their families. The initiative reflects the Army’s continuing efforts to ensure the welfare of its veteran community through healthcare, financial advice, and employment guidance.

“The Ex-Servicemen Rally underscores the Army’s enduring respect and responsibility towards its veterans and war widows. It is a platform to listen, assist, and reaffirm our bond with those who once wore the uniform,” said the Station Commander of Masimpur Military Station.

The rally is expected to draw a large turnout from across the Barak Valley. By bringing together multiple welfare agencies and officials, the event marks a meaningful step in ensuring that India’s veterans continue to receive the honour, care, and support they have earned through their service.
