Silchar: The Silchar Sankar Math-O-Mission on Sonai Mahaprabhu Sarani concluded its two-day Janmashtami celebrations on Sunday with the distribution of Mahaprasad among devotees on the occasion of Parna. The festival, observed on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadra, was marked by devotion and enthusiastic participation.
During the celebrations, devotees observed fasting, offered prayers, and took part in a series of religious programmes, including kirtans, bhajans, and enactments of Krishna Leela.

Addressing the gathering, Swami Bigyanananda Brahmachari Maharaj, Adhyaksha of the Mission, said, “Lord Shri Krishna is the symbol of all possibilities, of complete human development, and of divinity. The sages described him as the fullness of divinity, because everything a human being can aspire to is embodied in Krishna.”
The event was organised with the support of Swami Atmananda Brahmachari Maharaj, president Ranjit Mitra, vice-president Ramu Debnath, secretary Biplab Dey, and several others, including Suman Mitra, Newton Mitra, Kabul Mitra, Pranab Dutta, Ratan Dey, Beauty Dey, Indrajit Das, Shikha Dey, Tuli Dey, Sangeeta Das, Srishti Pal, Sangeeta Mitra, and Rittika Roy.
