Jiribam : With a pledge to make cleanliness a part of our everyday life, the District Administration Jiribam under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam Krishna Kumar, IAS in coordination with Jiribam Municipal Council, 87th Bn CRPF, 215 Bn CRPF under 156th Bn CRPF on Thursday launched the “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” cleanliness drive under Swachhta Hi Seva campaign from the Jiribam Railway station.
The voluntary cleanliness drive was carried out as a part of the nationwide launched of the biggest cleanliness mission of the year “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” which aims to promote cleanliness and community engagement in the district to create a garbage-free Bharat.
The drive was carried out to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean Bharat by voluntarily participating in the cleanliness drive. It also encourages citizens of the district to actively clean their surroundings and maintain public spaces, foster collective effort and community participation to make a visible difference in cleanliness.
Citizens of Jiribam were also encouraged to volunteer for one hour to clean public places, including roadsides, railway tracks and water bodies.
The cleanliness drive saw active participation from personnel of 87th Bn CRPF, 215 Bn CRPF, Volunteers from Jiribam Municipal Council, officials and staff from NF Railway and other key officials including Tapan Kumar, CO 87th Bn CRPF, Kumar Rakesh Ranjan, 2nd CO 87 Bn CRPF, Ajay Kumar Singh, Dy CO 87th Bn CRPF, Omkar Singh CO 215 Bn CRPF, Laishram Tarajeet Singh, MCS, Sub-Divisional Officer, Jiribam, Nameirakpam Bidyananda Singh, District Information Officer, Jiribam,
