RESULT IN APPREHENSIONS AND RECOVERIES IN MANIPUR

Kohima/ Nagaland : During 15 Sept to 21 Sept 2025, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles formations under Spear Corps, in close coordination with Manipur Police executed a series of precise, intelligence-driven joint operations across Tengnoupal, Thoubal, Imphal East, Tamenglong, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Chandel Districts of Manipur.
The operations led to the apprehension of 09 cadres from various hill and valley-based groups and the recovery of 36 weapons, narcotics, and other war-like stores.

On 15 Sept 2025 a suspected insurgent, affiliated with the proscribed group SOREPA in Tengnoupal District was apprehended.
On 16 Sept 2025 in a joint operation by Assam Rifles and Thoubal Police Commandos, a cadre of Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF)/People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was apprehended in Thoubal also two cadres of the United National Liberation Front (Koireng) in Khangabok,

Thoubal District were apprehended with recovery of two mobile phones, a Bolero vehicle, and incriminating documents. An apprehension and Weapon Recovery was done in Thoubal District by Assam Rifles and Imphal West Police Commandos.
Three active cadres of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) were also apprehended. The team also recovered four INSAS rifles, four SLRs, two .303 rifles, one AR-15/M-16 rifle, a scope, 82 rounds of live ammunition, 25 magazines, and three mobile phones.
On 17 September 2025, Weapons Recovery was done in Mongbung Ridge, Kangpokpi District by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police in a joint search operation. The operation led to the recovery of four single-barreled guns.

A same-day contraband seizure was done in a major counter-narcotics operation with the Narcotics Control Bureau in T Jangnom village, Chandel District.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 105.25 kg of opium packed in 50 plastic bags and 2.05 kg of brown sugar in two packets.
On 18 September 2025, weapons recovery was done from Gamdai, Kangpokpi District. Assam Rifles and New Keithelmanbi Police in a joint search caught three bolt-action rifles, three 9mm pistols, four live 12-bore cartridges, five empty 12-bore cartridges, one Baofeng wireless set, and two bulletproof plates.

Same day another weapons recovery was done in a second operation in Aigejang, Kangpokpi District, by Assam Rifles and New Keithelmanbi Police Station. The operation led to the recovery of four bolt-action rifles, two 9 mm pistols, and five empty 12 bore cartridges.
Further same day again an apprehension of cadres took place in Mantripukhri where in the Imphal East District, Assam Rifles and Imphal East Police Commandos caught a cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group). In another operation, a second KCP (PWG) cadre was caught in Andro Parking,

Imphal East District. In Icham Khunou, Thoubal District, Assam Rifles and Thoubal Police Commandos caught a cadre of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive). The operation led to the recovery of one mobile phone.
Further on 19 September 2025 a weapon was recovered in Village G Khonom, Churachandpur District, when Assam Rifles conducted an operation based on verified intelligence inputs. The mission resulted in the recovery of eight single-barrel 12-bore rifles suspected to be intended for use by anti-national elements.
The same day Assam Rifles recovered another cache of weapons and war-like stores near Vangai Ridge, Tamenglong district, Manipur. This also included three single bolt-action rifles, two single barrel rifles, and 20 live rounds.
These coordinated efforts by security forces highlight their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Manipur.
