Inaugurates and lays foundation of multiple projects

Silchar: Minister Kaushik Rai on Wednesday attended a series of GP-level Vijay Sankalp Sabhas across the Lakhipur Assembly constituency ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections and inaugurated as well as laid the foundation stones for several development projects in different areas.

At Lediyachhara under Barthul Lediyachhara GP, Rai took part in the Vijay Sankalp Sabha and inaugurated a newly constructed Jagannath Community-cum-Skill Training Centre built at a cost of Rs.1.5 crore. He also laid the foundation stone for a nach ghar at Lediyachhara to be constructed with Rs.35 lakh under the Barak Valley Development Department.

Later, the minister attended another Vijay Sankalp Sabha at Thailu under Thailu Bandu GP. During the visit, he inaugurated the Jagannath Community-cum-Skill Training Centre constructed at a cost of Rs.1.5 crore. He also initiated the construction of the Thailu Office Line Durga Mandap with an estimated cost of Rs.15 lakh and laid the foundation stone for a nach ghar to be built with Rs.35 lakh under the Barak Valley Development Department.

Rai also participated in the Vijay Sankalp Sabha at Nutan Ramnagar GP under the same constituency. Before the meeting, he laid the foundation stones for several development works, including the construction of a road from Barthul CC Block Road to Langlachhara Road with an estimated cost of Rs.90.67 lakh and another road from Barthul Tea Garden Factory to RCBP School costing Rs.1.6 crore.

He also laid the foundation stone for a nach ghar at Barthul Tea Garden with Rs.35 lakh sanctioned under the Barak Valley Development Department. On the occasion, the minister inaugurated the Barthul Tea Garden Model Higher Secondary School, built at a cost of Rs.3 crore.

As part of the day’s fourth programme, Rai attended the Vijay Sankalp Sabha at Dewan GP, where he laid the foundation stone for the construction of a road from Dewan Factory through Ward No. 10 to Rajbanshi Basti under the Chief Minister’s Pakipath scheme with an allocation of Rs.65 lakh. He also initiated the construction of a nach ghar opposite Dewan Factory with Rs.10 lakh from the MLA Development Fund.

The minister further inaugurated the Dewan Jagannath Community-cum-Skill Training Centre, constructed at a cost of Rs.1.5 crore.

During the meetings, Rai interacted with local residents and discussed development plans for the GPs. He also spoke about the various development initiatives being undertaken by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
