Khutipuja Marks Beginning of Udharbond Kalibari Road Durga Puja Preparations

The committee aims to make this year’s celebration more attractive and inclusive

Silchar : With the traditional Khutipuja on Friday morning, preparations for the Udharbond Kalibari Road Sarbajanin Durga Puja officially began. The ceremony, held at 8:30 AM, was graced by Swami Ganadhishananda Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Silchar, along with key members of the organizing committee.

In a press conference following the ritual, the organizers shared that this year’s Durga Puja will be grander and more innovative than previous editions. The pandal will be built at a greater height, visible even from central Silchar. Both the pandal and idols are being crafted by skilled artisans from West Bengal.

For added convenience, devotees will be able to collect coupons online from the comfort of their homes. The number of volunteers will be increased to ensure better crowd management, while the traditional distribution of prasad will continue as before. The committee aims to make this year’s celebration more attractive and inclusive.

Among those present at the press meet were Ganadhishananda Maharaj, committee advisor Shankar Roy, general secretary Sayan Roy, vice-president Prabir Deb, advisor Rabindra Chakraborty, treasurer Dhruba Nag, and members Sujit Ghosh, Gaura Nag, Biraj Roy, Mukunda Chakraborty, and joint secretary Amlendu Pal.
