Silchar: The Lions Club of Silchar Valley View held its Board of Directors meeting on Sunday at the Club’s office in Itkhola, Silchar. The meeting was chaired by Club President Bandita Trivedi Roy.

During the meeting, various agendas were discussed and a total of 15 projects were approved for implementation in the month of October. Project Chairpersons for each initiative were also nominated.

A major clothes distribution drive will be held before Kali Puja, sponsored by Club member Sajal Kanti Das in memory of his late brother Bimol Kanti Das. The Club also announced plans to organize a ‘Saradia–Dipawali Milon Utsav’ after Kali Puja, along with an Age-Group Yogasan Competition featuring participants from Silchar town and nearby areas.

The meeting saw active participation from Guiding Lion Sanjeev Roy, Assistant General Secretary Minara Laskar, Shibu Das, Sajal Kanti Das, Pushpabati Roy, Pinky Singh Das, Saheen Akhtar Mazumder, Anita Singh, and other members, who shared their views on service activities and community welfare under the spirit of Lionism.

A condolence resolution was also adopted on the sudden demise of the beloved singer and proud son of Assam, late Zubeen Garg. The message will soon be conveyed to the bereaved family. The meeting concluded with the National Anthem, formally adjourned by the President.
