Teachers remain the true builders of the nation and that society cannot progress without their guidance

Silchar: The Lions Club of Silchar Valley View observed Teachers’ Day on Friday by felicitating 20 teachers, including both serving and retired educators, through a series of programmes in Silchar.
The observance began at JRHS School, Ghanirgram, where Vice-President Sayed Ahmed Barbhuiya led members in paying tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and honouring two teachers of the institution.
At Gyanjyoti Multipurpose Public School, Bisphuti, the club held its central programme under the leadership of Secretary Anup Roy. The event opened with the cutting of a cake to mark Dr. Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary, followed by the felicitation of seven teachers and a cultural presentation by students.
Club President Bandita Trivedi Roy, along with members Subir Dey, Pushpabati Roy, Sanjeev Roy, and Project Chairman Prasanta Bhattacharjee, later visited the homes of 11 teachers to extend personal felicitations. Member Pushpabati Roy was instrumental in coordinating and leading this outreach effort.
Speaking on the occasion, club representatives said teachers remain the true builders of the nation and that society cannot progress without their guidance.
