In Silchar, the grand Rath Yatra of ISKCON’s Lord Jagannath was celebrated with great fervor

Silchar : Lord Jagannath, along with Balabhadra and Subhadra, set off for their aunt’s house riding the grand chariot.
In Silchar too, the grand Rath Yatra of ISKCON’s Lord Jagannath was celebrated with great fervor. Seated on the chariot, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra began their symbolic journey to their aunt’s residence. By afternoon, a sea of devotees filled the streets, with ISKCON Silchar’s Rath Yatra drawing particular attention.
On this occasion, MLA Dipayan Chakraborty and Assam University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajive Pathak inaugurated the procession by sweeping the path and pulling the sacred chariot.
The magnificently decorated and towering chariot was accompanied by vibrant tableaus, creating a truly grand procession. Dignitaries including MLA Dipayan Chakraborty and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajive Pathak took part in ISKCON’s Rath Yatra festivities.
The city also witnessed other chariots from Shyamsundar Akhara, Radhamadhav Akhara, Gopal Akhara, and Madanmohan Akhara, all proceeding through the town with devotional Harinam Sankirtan. Another chariot was taken out from Janiganj Mahaprabhu Akhara. Notably, this year saw enthusiastic participation of youth both boys and girls in every procession.
The district administration and police department remained actively vigilant to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the Rath Yatra.
