Diphu : Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Amarsing Tisso was felicitated by a former member of the Karbi Students Association at the KSA Central Executive Committee office, Diphu yesterday. The felicitation ceremony was graced by Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang, as the chief guest.

Amarsing Tisso was associated with Karbi Students Association and served the students body as president from from 1988 to 1989 and as general secretary from 1993 to 1994.

He was most active in the autonomous state movement led by the Karbi Anglong and North Cachar Hills Autonomous State Demand Committee, now renamed as the Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao Autonomous State Demand Committee.

He was particularly honored by the organizations for his past performance and raising the issue of autonomous state in the Parliament.

Addressing the elite gathering Tisso mentioned about his association with the present KSA-Inglong Pho faction and his partaking in the autonomous state movement. Tisso said that he would continue to pursue the autonomous state in Parliament.
