Imphal: The Government of Manipur has officially adopted the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) for its employees who joined service on or after January 1, 2005.

A notification issued by the Finance Department (Pay Implementation Cell) on February 3, 2026, confirmed that the Unified Pension Scheme will be implemented under the National Pension System (NPS).

As per the notification, the scheme will come into effect from April 1, 2026.

The government stated that detailed operational guidelines and rules for implementation will be issued separately in due course.

Employees and concerned departments have been advised to take note of the notification and await further instructions regarding the rollout of the scheme.
