Massive Yaba Haul Worth Rs.45 Crore Seized in Joint Operation

Tripura: In a major blow to drug trafficking networks, the Assam Rifles and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence carried out a successful joint operation, seizing a huge consignment of Yaba tablets at Gen A. Mungiakami.

Acting on specific intelligence, security personnel intercepted a TATA truck bearing registration number AS-01T-C7674. A detailed search of the vehicle led to the recovery of nearly 4.5 lakh Yaba tablets. Officials estimate the value of the seized drugs at around Rs.45 crore in the illegal market.

One person, identified as Hafijul Hoque, 42, from Udalguri district of Assam, was arrested in connection with the case. Authorities said the seized contraband along with the accused has been handed over to the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence for further investigation and legal action.
