Dr. Roy underlined the role of women in driving economic progress and noted India’s rising global profile despite ongoing challenges

Silchar: The Saraswati Smarak Samiti, Silchar, recently held its annual Hironmoyee Nath Choudhury and Yadav Ranjan Bhattacharjee Memorial Awards ceremony at Ambicapatty.
The programme began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tributes to Bharat Mata. Dr. Niranjan Roy, Vice-Chancellor of Gurucharan University, was chief guest. Suparna Dey, All India Co-Seva Pramukh of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, delivered the keynote address. Samiti president Alka Deb, Chandana Sinha, and other dignitaries were also present.
This year, the Hironmoyee Nath Choudhury Memorial Award was conferred on Chandana Sinha, while the Yadav Ranjan Bhattacharjee Memorial Award went to student Kuldeep Paul. Dr. Rupanjali Dutta received the Seva Award.
Speaking on “Realisation of a Developed India and Women’s Participation,” Dr. Roy underlined the role of women in driving economic progress and noted India’s rising global profile despite ongoing challenges. In her address, Suparna Dey stressed that women like Chandana Sinha and Rupanjali Dutta inspire others by example.
Chandana Sinha recalled her long association with the Samiti, and Dr. Rupanjali Dutta reflected on Swami Vivekananda’s message of service. The programme was conducted by Anamika Bardhan and Mukta Chakraborty.
