Silchar: The Mrinal Kanti De Memorial Prize-Money 1st Division League-cum-Knockout Football Tournament 2025, organised by the Silchar District Sports Association (DSA), will kick off on Thursday.

The announcement was made at a press conference on Tuesday, where DSA president Shibabrata Dutta, general secretary Atanu Bhattacharjee, and football secretary Bikash Das briefed the media. Dutta said six teams will compete in the tournament, which is sponsored by Monotosh De, son of the late Mrinal Kanti De.

Bhattacharjee informed that the final is scheduled for September 22, with reporting at 2 pm and kick-off at 3 pm. The winners will take home Rs.20,000, the runners-up Rs.10,000, along with additional cash prizes and a Man of the Match award for each game.
