The debate aimed to sensitise the importance of strict adherence to Human Rights while dealing with the public

Kohima /Nagaland : A debate competition on Human Rights was held on 15 September 2025 at ARTC & S, Shokhuvi in Nagaland in which seven teams of Central Armed Police Forces participated. The topic of the debate was “Whether creating greater awareness of Human Rights in security personnel is a need of the time.” The debate aimed to sensitise the importance of strict adherence to Human Rights while dealing with the public.

Brig Chandan Singh Pathania, VSM, Commandant, ARTC&S appreciated the efforts put in by the participants and made a special reference to the efficient conduct of the event by the organisers and conveyed good wishes to prize prize-winning teams for the Semi Final round of debate. He also conveyed his personal thanks and appreciation to the four eminent judges for their valuable inputs and contributions.

North East-based CAPFs namely BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, ITBP, and Assam Rifles participated in the prestigious NHRC NE Zone Debate competition.

A total of 28 speakers debated on the topic in Hindi and English languages with 14 speakers each ‘for’ and ‘against’ the motion. Assam Rifles secured the 1st Position and CISF secured 2nd Position both in English as well as Hindi categories.

The best teams in both the English and Hindi categories namely Assam Rifles and CISF has been selected to represent the North East Zone in the Semi-Finals of the Inter-CAPF debate competition, scheduled to be held in October -November 2025.
