Silchar: The district administration in Cachar has declared certain key stretches in Silchar as no-parking zones ahead of the proposed visit of the Prime Minister of India on March 14.
According to an order issued by District Magistrate Aayush Garg, IAS, the restrictions have been imposed to ensure smooth movement of VVIP vehicles during the Prime Minister’s visit. The public meeting is scheduled to be held at Ambicapur Part-III along the Silchar Bypass.

Under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, two important routes have been declared no-parking zones from March 10 to March 14. These include the stretch from ISBT Point to Mangal Pandey Statue Point, located at the junction of the Silchar Bypass and Hailakandi Road, and the road from ISBT Point to the ONGC Campus at Srikona.
The district administration has directed all private and commercial vehicle owners and drivers not to park any vehicles along these roads during the specified period.

The order has been circulated to the Silchar Municipal Corporation, Cachar Police, the District Transport Office and the Information and Public Relations Department for necessary action and public awareness.
