Around 180 beneficiaries who witnessed the live telecast of the state-level launch

Silchar : The Orunodoi 3.0 scheme was inaugurated at BJP Booth No. 148 under Ward No. 27 in Silchar on Tuesday, aligning with the simultaneous launch of the flagship welfare programme across Assam. The event was organised by the New Silchar Mandal BJP and saw the participation of around 180 beneficiaries who witnessed the live telecast of the state-level launch.
Before the programme began, booth committee president Seba Banik and Shakti Kendra leader Biplab Kumar Dey were felicitated by party workers with traditional uttoriyos in recognition of their contributions.
In her address, Seba Banik said that Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the Orunodoi initiative with the vision of building a self-reliant and confident Assam. She added that the scheme’s primary objective is to ensure family welfare by expanding access to financial assistance and essential services.

Biplab Kumar Dey, speaking on the occasion, highlighted the steady growth of the programme. He mentioned that it began by providing Rs.830 per month to poor households and now offers Rs.1,250 every month to 24.6 lakh families across the state. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Jan Dhan Yojana for making such a large-scale direct benefit transfer possible.
Dey also urged the people to continue their support for Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, MP Parimal Suklabaidya, Rajya Sabha MP Kanad Purkayastha, and Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty to sustain the pace of development in Cachar and Silchar.
Among others present at the event were Rupak Pal, Archana Das, Randhir Bhattacharjee, Tanushree Pal, Debashree Pal, Mamata Saha, Kajal Debnath, Mamata Das, and Ruby Banik, along with several local residents and BJP workers.
