Silchar: The drama anthology Chaturanga, written by noted playwright Anjan Swami, was unveiled at Shivalik Park Shri Durga Mandap in the presence of a distinguished gathering.
The collection, comprising four plays, was formally released by eminent personalities including former professor Sunanda Nandi Purkayastha, Professor Debashish Bhattacharjee, chief guest Professor Dr. Biswatosh Chowdhury, Mithilesh Bhattacharjee, Sudipta Deb Roy, and Omkarnath Roy.
The event began with the traditional felicitation of guests with uttariyos, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial panchapradip. Literature and theater enthusiasts filled the venue, creating a festive atmosphere around the launch.
Speakers at the function lauded Anjan Swami for his contribution to theater and expressed confidence that Chaturanga would strike a chord with readers. Publisher Debdeep Dutta, along with Subrata Roy, Jayanta Das, Rahul Dasgupta, Santanu Paul, Dipak Sengupta, and several actors, directors, and theatre critics were also present on the occasion.
