Silchar : Pranabananda International School celebrated Sharadutsav on Wednesday with a cultural programme marking the advent of Durga Puja. The highlight of the celebration was a dance drama titled “Ma Durgar Agomoni”, portraying the divine arrival of Goddess Durga in a visually captivating and spiritually uplifting manner.

The programme began with evocative recitations by teachers Ketan Dev Roy and Sougoto Gupta, whose narration set a devotional tone for the evening. A soulful musical presentation by music teacher Punam Deb further enhanced the spiritual atmosphere. The dance sequences, performed by both current students and alumni, created a vibrant fusion of youthful energy and rich tradition.

Adding to the grandeur of the occasion was a life-sized idol of Goddess Durga, crafted under the guidance of art teacher Sagar Roy along with the students. Made entirely from biodegradable materials, the idol stood as a symbol of the school’s commitment to sustainability and skill-based education. The project not only highlighted the students’ creativity but also reflected the institution’s emphasis on nurturing talent and ecological responsibility.

The campus radiated an ambience of devotion and cultural reverence. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Partha Pradip Adhikari remarked, “Such events are not merely cultural celebrations but vital opportunities to instill values and traditions in our students.

Through art forms such as dance drama, recitation, and music, they connect with their heritage and experience the divinity these occasions inspire. Our aim is to nurture individuals who are not only academically proficient but also culturally aware and spiritually grounded.”

Parents and well-wishers present lauded the initiative, observing that it provided an enriching experience for the young participants. The programme concluded with resounding applause, leaving the audience in eager anticipation of the forthcoming Durga Puja festivities.
