Silchar: The first death anniversary of poet, journalist, and teacher Bijoy Kumar Bhattacharjee will be observed on Saturday at Silchar Press Club. The programme, which has been organised by Barak Nagarik Sangsad, will begin at 3 pm.

The event will include reminiscences and a memorial discussion on “Social and Political Evolution and the Sphere of Journalism.” During the ceremony, the Bijoy Kumar Bhattacharjee Memorial Journalism Award will be presented to journalist Bijit Das.

Sangsad chief secretary Shankar Dey has invited people to be part of the event.
