Counterfeit Notes, Burglary Tools Recovered

Silchar: In a breakthrough development, the main accused in the recent theft incident at Zilani Choudhury Lane in Meherpur, Silchar, has been apprehended. Acting on CCTV footage, local residents detained a youth identified as Ruhul Amin and handed him over to the police.
Ruhul Amin, a resident of Hailakandi, had been living on rent in the area for the past few weeks and was operating a small eatery named “Mom’s Kitchen.” His movements around the time of the theft were clearly captured on CCTV, raising suspicion among locals.
Following his detention, police conducted a search of his rented accommodation, where they reportedly recovered counterfeit currency, a set of lock-cutting tools, and master keys capable of opening various types of locks.
Police have taken Ruhul into custody and initiated a detailed investigation to ascertain whether he acted alone or had accomplices. The incident has caused a stir in the locality, with residents expressing shock over the revelation that the accused had been living among them and running a business.
