Silchar: The authorities of Radhamadhab College have strongly criticised the spread of misleading social media posts about an August 12 incident involving an outsider youth and a female student.

In an emergency meeting on Wednesday, attended by teaching, non-teaching, and library staff, the college termed the reports “false and fabricated.” Speakers said the matter a personal issue that took place outside the campus was needlessly linked to the institution, damaging its reputation.

The authorities further claimed that on the day of the incident, several students from Gurucharan University and Cachar College entered the Radhamadhab College premises without permission, creating a disturbance behaviour they described as “completely unacceptable.”

Acting Principal Dr. Arundhati Dutta Choudhury urged stricter measures to protect the academic environment and maintain discipline on campus.
