Silchar: A review meeting on three major infrastructure projects long awaited by the people of Cachar was held today at the office of the District Commissioner. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and attended by Minister Kaushik Rai, along with officials from the Public Works Department, district administration, and other concerned departments.

The discussions focused on the implementation and progress of three key projects an elevated road from Trunk Road through Capital Point to Rangirkhari, the construction of a new Madhuraghat Bridge over the Barak River to link it with the greater Silchar city area, and the upgradation of the Silchar–Hailakandi Road from Birbal Bazar to Silchar Medical College from two lanes to four lanes.

Officials reviewed the current status of these projects and deliberated on measures to expedite their execution, given their importance to the region’s connectivity and urban development.
